Dear colleagues and friends,
　　On behalf of the organizing committee of the Oriental Congress of Cardiology (OCC), it’s my great pleasure to welcome you all to take part in the Oriental Congress of Cardiology 2008 （OCC2008）which will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Center from May 29 to June 1, 2008. The congress is organized and hosted by Shanghai Society of Cardiology, Shanghai Medical Association.
　　OCC 2008 promises to be innovative and stimulating, the scientific program will be featured on specific forums including: coronary heart disease and intervention, hypertension, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, structural heart disease, heart rhythm, pulmonary circulation, basic cardiovascular research, cardiovascular imaging, cardiac surgery and related medical therapies. Distinguished scientists will be invited to present their original scientific works and clinicians will debate the hottest topics for day to day clinical practice. As one of the core of OCC, the congress will also broadcast live case demonstrations on new techniques and strategies in interventional cardiology. We believe that the OCC2008 will bring the participants great opportunity to share and exchange their experience and learn from the experts. The congress will also provide a platform for pharmaceutical industries to exhibit their new products to share the results of new clinical trials with health professionals.
