美敦力国际事务高级副总裁,大中华区总裁
2006年5月被任命为美敦力大中华区总裁,同时,他担任美敦力国际事务高级副总裁。

Barry Wilson was appointed Senior Vice President, International Affairs on August 1, 2005. He joined Medtronic as President Europe, Middle East and Africa in 1995, directing operations in these areas and serving on the company’s Operating Committee. In 1997, he was elected a Senior Vice President of Medtronic, Inc. and joined the Executive Committee. In 2000 Canada and Latin America were added to his responsibilities and in 2001 he was promoted to President of Medtronic International.
In his new role, reporting to the CEO and Chairman, Mr. Wilson will work with key political and health policy leaders to improve patient access to the company's products and therapies outside of the U.S. He will be collaborating with the major medical device industry trade associations and interfacing with key regional and national professional associations regarding adoption of guidelines in key disease and therapy areas.
Mr. Wilson is a former President, International of the Lederle Division of the American Cyanamid Company, a research-based life sciences company that merged with American Home Products in 1995. Prior to this, he was President, Europe of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.
Upon graduation from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1967, Mr. Wilson began his career at Pfizer Inc. headquarters in New York before taking up his first international assignment in South Africa. With Pfizer, he went on to posts in Belgium, Germany, India, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, and South Korea. He joined Squibb in 1980 as Vice President for the Japan/Pacific Region, based in Hong Kong. In 1984, he was appointed Vice President, Western Hemisphere (Canada and Latin America) and moved to company headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. In 1987, he became President, Intercontinental (Japan, the Pacific, Latin America, Iberia and Middle East/Africa). As President Bristol-Myers Squibb Intercontinental in 1989, Mr. Wilson assumed responsibility for the newly merged businesses of Bristol-Myers and Squibb in Canada, Pacific, Middle East/Africa and Eastern Europe prior to being named President Europe of Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1991.
In January 2003 Mr. Wilson was appointed to the Board of Directors of Bausch & Lomb. Previously, he served as a Director of Mallinckrodt, Inc. From 2000-2004, Mr. Wilson was Chairman of Eucomed, the pan-European trade association that represents the manufacturers and distributors of medical technology products in Europe. He is now Honorary Chairman of Eucomed. Mr. Wilson also serves as a Senior Advisor to AdvaMed, the U.S. medical device association.
Mr. Wilson was Chairman of the Lake Geneva Chapter and a member of the Senior Advisory Council of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce from June 2004-July 2005 having also served as a Vice President from 2001-2004 and a member of the Board since 1997. For eight years he was a Director of the Wharton School European Board and was a former Chairman, Asia/Pacific and Vice Chairman, Europe of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association of America.
Mr. Wilson holds a B.A. (Hons), M.A. from Cambridge University, England and an M.B.A from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. |
